Stapleton Library
Staten Island, New York

GMS provided structural engineering services for the $10 million renovation and expansion of the Stapleton Branch of the New York Public Library.  The 4,500 sf Carnegie Library, originally built in 1907, will be upgraded while maintaining its historic character.  The new 8,000 sf single-story addition features 18-foot ceilings, exposed timber framing and a glass curtain wall to provide a modern space for the library amenities.
