Last month, Gilsanz Murray Steficek attended the ACEC Coalitions Summer Meeting in Nashville, TN, from August 9-10. As their website states, the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) serves as the voice of the engineering industry throughout the United States and represents thousands of companies, working to strengthen the business environment for their members’ firms through government advocacy, political action, and business education.

As members of ACEC and its specialty group, the Coalition of American Structural Engineers (CASE), GMS was thrilled to attend an in-person opportunity to learn from, connect with, and grow alongside other industry professionals.

GMS Associate and CASE Structural Engineering Guidelines Committee member, Andrew Dolan, attended the conference held at the Grand Hyatt in Downtown Nashville to network with leaders and solutions providers, and participate in sessions focused on field staff shortages, post-Covid impacts to the business, risk management, cyber security, and more.

A two-day event, the ACEC Coalitions Summer Meeting had a packed agenda, but one session stood out among the rest. “The CASE Guidelines Committee roundtable session was a great opportunity to connect with CASE members from across the country,” said Andrew. “Each time we come together is a chance to discuss specific issues and identify solutions we commonly face in the industry.”

Thank you to ACEC for hosting such an incredible event. We are honored to have been involved and are already looking forward to the next meeting!
